Single Beds
Standard single beds that are suitable for average size adults and will often be used for a child’s bedroom, are 190cm x 90cm. To leave enough space to be comfortable and for some toys, possibly a small dresser and maybe a storage chest as well, the bedroom should be at least 2.1m x 3m to fit a single bed. We recommend a room be at least 3m x 3m to fit two single beds in the same room
Queen Beds Queen beds are 203cm x 153cm, and are one of the most popular size bed sold today. Thats because there is enough room for two people to sleep comfortably, and they also work well for furnishing guest rooms. A queen size bed mattress will fit in a 3m x 3m room, however.. for a more comfortable space a 3m x 4m space gives more of an open feel, this also leaves plenty of room for a dresser or comfortable chair.
King Beds
At 203cm x 183cm, king size beds are almost the same size as two twin beds placed side by side. They’re perfect for couples that like a little more personal sleeping space and need room to sprawl out without disturbing their sleeping partner. King beds will fit fairly well in a 3m x 3.6m bedroom, however we recommend a 3.9m x 3.9m room or larger for a spacious feel.
